“The master plan of Shusha is magnificent, I think that in 3-4 years this city will be the most beautiful city not only in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, but in the world” – President Ilham Aliyev.
As we know, on July 21, the opening ceremony of the Shusha Global Media Forum was held. One of the most interesting moments of the Forum was President Ilham Aliyev’s information on the work done so far in the process of revival of Shusha and important announcements regarding the development of Shusha and planned works to be done in the next 3-4 years.
In his speech, President Ilham Aliyev announced the following planned works for the revival and development of Shusha:
– “The restoration of Shusha has started, the Master Plan was approved some time ago, and now the first residential project is being implemented. You can see them in several places in the city. Shusha residents will return to their homes within the framework of these projects.
– Shusha has been declared the cultural capital of Azerbaijan by the Presidential Decree, and we expect that we will have many guests from the world, there will be an influx of people. Because this is a rare, unique place. History, culture, architecture and climate are united here. This is our great asset.
– The infrastructure of Shusha is also being developed. Because the Armenians destroyed the water distrubution network here while fleeing. Therefore, we have built a new distribution system in the city from scratch. In general, the entire infrastructure of the city of Shusha has been rebuilt and new roads have been created within the framework of the Master Plan.
– In September of this year, we will inaugurate a school with a capacity of 1,000 students, and a hospital with 90 beds will be ready by the end of the year. In Shusha, everything is done according to the Master Plan. This will make the city more beautiful. That is, it will be more beautiful than ever. It will be a very comfortable, modern city.
– The originality of Shusha will be preserved, as all historical-architectural monuments are currently being restored. Some demolition work is still ahead, because there are buildings built in the Soviet era, and their endurance does not allow us to put them into operation again.
In his speech, the president emphasized the main goal of Shusha’s revival, and noted that “The Master Plan of Shusha is magnificent, I think that in 3-4 years this city will be the most beautiful city not only in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, but in the world.”
Regarding these goals of the president, I am sure that, as he has achieved the goals he has set so far, these goals will definitely come true.
